Another World

If you walk down the boreen in Ballyrean you start to enter another world, that more ancient world of myth, legend and folklore where fairies live in the flowers and the songs of the old gods can be heard blowing on the breeze. At least that’s what I tell my kids. They play along with me.
The paintings in this room reflect that there is still another way of viewing things, maybe saved for blustery days when all the jobs are done. A battered old tractor can be a golden chariot. A small hill can be a fairy fort. The stones can be ruined temples.
